Android studio provides a default app launcher icon when the app first time is installed, but when it's time to release your app or publish on the Play store, you have to change the default icon of your app.
In this article, you will get complete information to change the app icon in android studio.
Step 1 - Prepare your app icon
I recommend you to use Adobe XD software.
In the Adobe XD, create a new 2 artboard with 512 heights and widths. In the first artboard, design the foreground of your app icon, and in the second artboard, design the background for your app icon.
And then Export them to a specific location on your computer.

Step 2 - Change the App Icon in Android Studio
Open Android Studio and go to the -
File > New > Image Asset
- Select Foreground Layer and select your logo Foreground path
- then select the Background Layer and select your logo Background path
- then click next
After clicking the next button, you will see a dialog like this -
So just click on the Finish button.
